Eric McClure says he gained great benefit and confidence from his radio experience at Emory & Henry’s WEHC-FM that led to his successful career as a NASCAR driver and team co-owner. As the station celebrates 25 years of operation, McClure wants to help ensure the financial security of the station so that future students can have the same opportunities that he did.

I wouldn't have been a race car driver or team owner if it weren't for my mass communications degree from Emory & Henry College. ~ Eric McClure,E&H Mass Comm., Class of 2000 and Martin–McClure Racing (MMR) Team Co-Owner
Martin-McClure Racing (MMR) — located just down the road from Emory & Henry College on Intersate-81 at Exit 22 — will donate proceeds to WEHC-FM, 90.7 in Emory, Virginia.
Eric McClure and Hal Martin launched Martin-McClure Racing (MMR) in 2015 and quickly found themselves in winner’s circle for the 2016 K&N Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway, known as “the world's fastest half-mile." Prior to becoming a team co-owner, Eric drove a Toyota under the Hefty and Reynolds Wrap sponsorships in the highest levels of NASCAR racing. While Hal Martin and Eric McClure were both driving in the Xfinity series, they began planning to develop their own team.
Team co-owner Eric McClure wants to ensure that future Emory & Henry students gain the benefit of the radio experience that he and his classmates enjoyed. McClure graduated from Emory & Henry in 2000 and credits much of the success in his 14-year NASCAR driving career to his education. As a show of his support, MMR driver Chad Finchum will race the #39 Toyota for the benefit of WEHC-FM with both the 90.7 station logo and Emory & Henry logo on the car.
